Lol
Thats MAXV6's old car which James bought and then sold to tunnie....
-
Looks vaguely familiar, that one... ;D
Kevin
-
That's the one which MAX V6 owned, JamesV6CDX repaired and bought and then sold it to Tunnie.....
You could say it's an OOF Slag LOL
Edit: I type too slowly!
-
Aye, I recall changing a couple of heads on the car ::) ;D
-
It's certainly done the rounds :D
In seriousness, the Engine has had a really good job done... and the car is a nice one with only a couple of niggles...
But... I just prefer facelift's :'(
-
oh i see ;D ;D a lady of the night.... looks very good :y
-
lol... yep thats mine. No wonder the amount of watchers just shot up.
I am with James on this... i personally find the facelifts far superiour to the pre-facelifts.
So much so, i prefer my facelift 2.2 4pot, to that pre-facelift Elite with all the toys, plus the 3.0 V6 engine...
I also despise working on the V6, hence its going!

I think it looks smashing; and in superb condition Tunnie :)
.....I`m soooo-envious of all the 'toys' ;)
Lets hope for keen bidders 'fighting' each other to win your auction! :y

.. and then you get really breaked off with them when they stop working, which is why I got an MV6.

If i could spell realise lol....
The only usefull stuff on the Elites is Bose and the HID's...
I have an active sub in the boot of my 2.2, so that only leaves the HID's
As long as my lights are clean, the projectors are fine.

I want it gone!

Why such urgency??

Why such urgency??
Tax is up this month... don't want to spend another £100 on it.
MOT is up next month, got a feeling its going to be a pig for the MOT in terms of time and money.
Next month the 2.2 is due some tax too.
So to tax them both and MOT the estate looking a min of £250
Going to Slovina in 2 weeks... when i get back planning to go Snowboarding with a friend from work, and i want to learn to ride a motorbike. So i can't afford to spend time/money on the Estate which needs (hope auction buyer does not see this)
heat matrix needs fixing, multirams, new radio ariel, rear washer jet, side light, broken heated seat, aux belt tensioner, climate dash bulbs, handbrake cable adjustment, something is clunking up the front end, not sure if its a wishbone or what, but when i pull into the drive, there is a nasty clonk... needs front grill re-spraying..... ohh and the cam covers too!
All of the above needs time and a lot of money looking at at least £400 i would say to keep both on the road for the next 2 months.... and i cannot be bothered, i don't understand how quite a lot of the V6 stuff works... so thats why i would like it gone by the weekend!

I can see where your coming from TBH, it's in that zone where it needs some money spending on it to get it right and you have other priorities right now.
If someone buys it cheap enough (for them) then it's viable to sort the problems or if it had decent tax and MOT they'd just run it until they run out then strip it and sell the parts for a profit. Unfortunately a lot of fixable cars end up like that these days.
The cheapness of 9yr old cars is great for us but you do have to think twice about spending much on them if something major needs doing.

£400!!!
Surely not.
Camcovers, £55.
Seat - probably a connection (was working before) - Free
Handbrake fix for MOT - Free (I'll send you some brand new shoes)
Clunk? Sounds like a new problem, but most likely where you hit that nasty bump. Probably droplinks at £20 pair.
Aux tensioner I agree has had it - £26.
Matrix - reverse flush it, get some forte. £5?
Multirams, all you need is a couple of Vacc hoses to make them work.
Max has an arial he can give you?
And the bulbs, rear washer, etc, allow maybe £15. Scrappy?
That puts the price to fix the niggles at a much more realistic £121.
You worry toooo much :y

If it's just the pulley i've got a used one repacked with grease. nothing wrong with it, the noise on mine is down to the aircon compressor.
If you want it PM me your address....
-
.. and how much more would it go for with 12 months MOT and niggles fixed?
Selling a car just before MOT is up gives buyers a bad feeling.

3.0:
MOT £50
Tax £100
Cam covers i though were £75? including sealant.
wipers all around £30
needs some mats, £30
Monthly insurance £80
heated seat is fubar checked connections
Handbrake prob needs new shoes and pads at the back
exhaust within the year looking at the state/noise of it.
ATF will need changing the stuff that escaped looked very brown. another £50.
2.2 needs tax as well, so thats another £100, needs an oil change, fuel filter which all adds up.
I cannot justify that money for it, not when the 2.2 is in far better shape, and its a better drive.
-
The Tax / MOT don't really come into the fixing niggles catagory.. so I think you're probably being a bit harsh on the car - it seems any Omega (incl my facelift) need these jobs doing now and again.
I spent £500 on mine last week :'(
While I think you may be worrying too much about the car, I do understand your reasons from a financial perspective though. Running two is not a viable option... :y

The 2.2 just needs basics, and i will keep that going for now. I need to save for a house... and the odd £200/£300 there adds up after a while!

Sure does....
The offer of some help with a couple of the bits is still there, if you need it - even if only to make it more sellable...

Thanks but what ever it goes for, it will go...
Remember you where after an estate for the dogs, and you sold it to me... ;)
pre-facelifts don't cut it after you have owned a facelift! Even if its CD spec vs Elite
-
I suspect that the heat and multiram operation are related given that they both operate off vaccum.
If your selling it would wouldn't tax or insure it but, everything working and with 12 months MOT makes a big difference.
I reacon the 100ish quid to fix and MOT you would get 3 fold...
-
Remember you where after an estate for the dogs, and you sold it to me... ;)
Only because I fancied a facelift one - not because I thought you would have any issues with it (other than the known niggles) :'(
-
think you deserve a negative feedback from whoever buys this
nothing mentioned about all these faults you know about???
they may well be easy fixes but also may well be expensive i.e matrix if needed

While obviously good practice to list everything you know about - don't forget that legally the seller has no responsibility to point out anything, and the buyer is 100% responsible for making their own assessment prior to bidding or entering into a transaction...
Wrong information in a listing can result in comeback for a seller, but lack of information cannot...
Having owned and worked on the car, Tunnie's description is fine IMO.

could i just ask why the Rear view mirror is in the passenger footwell??
nosey.... wife has decreed I cannot buy it back.... not even for 50p although I feel that's rather unfair , she has pointed me at the Sintra, and our bank balance, followed closely by some disparaging comments like
"you already spend more time with the car than with me... " which I reckon is unfair, I'm only driving to work.... :(

As JamesV6 on that one, he brutially snapped it off before giving it to me!
Its back on now! :)

Maybe she'd like to offer to give you a piggy-back to work, thus redressing the balance. ;D

got quite a lot of interest in the auction, including some daft questions!
3rd line i stated tax & mot, he e-mailed me asking for the length of both!
