How much is it usually for long distance recovery, over 100 miles? I'm guessing that it's well over £1/mile (one way)? Can schedule a couple of days in advance.
-
Theres a few on Ebay, I paid £1.00 per mile one way but the transporter had seen better days ::)
-
Where do you need towing to from??? With fuel prices the way they are it will be hard to tow for under £1 a mile these days...
-
Stanstead to Coventry or Northampton area. Don't care if it's a ratty transporter as long as it is a flatbed and it can take really low cars - and they're insured!
A little over a quid a mile one-way would be fine!

That rollerskate you are looking at can't weigh much any how .. hire a car trailer and tow it with the miggy ... :)
Miggy 1800 Kgs ?? trailer 200 Kgs ?? so as long as the rollerskate is under 1600kgs you are ok ... providing you have a B+E Licence .. :)

B, B1, fkp whatever that means. Also, too much hassle to put a hitch on the miggy. :(

My mistake ... I thought all REAL miggys had a hitch ( shin breaker to Mark) on them ... :)

shame i am selling the estate, got a tow hitch on it. Guy in town rents trailers at £50 a day.

Shin splitter you mean....
Phone around, you can often get somebody who will do you a deal on a return journey...

I'll make some calls tomorrow. Some of the places on eGay look promising too.
Now to find wishbone bushes and probably ball joints . . . :-/

I suspect that VX220 he posted up about ;)

VX220, see the top secret post. Haven't bought it quite yet but very tempted. Wishbone bushes are so shot that I'm reluctant to drive it back. Ball joints and tie rod ends may be gone too, bushes are so bad I can't tell.

Just take it easy and it will be fine....its A14/M6 all the way anyway so hardly a rough road.
I didn't read the top secret post because it said top secret, do not read ;D

Getting it recovered means that I can have it here before the weekend, and the 5-6 hrs it would have taken to go get it on the weekend can be spent doing wishbone bushes instead.
How much are those things on TC? Ball joints and tie rod ends? Was considering poly bushes, but rather dear! :o
-
Shame you're not closer .. but for me to offer would be a 12 hour trog .. and you'd have to find a suitable trailer ..... :(
-
Its a VX220.....pay the day insure and drive the begger home!
