Can anyone point me in the right direction. I've been looking at various oil types and im not sure which is best to use. The site recommends vauxhall oil, is it this stuff?http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vauxhall-Oil-fully-Synthetic-5w-30-1-x-5ltr-Genuine-Oil-/190572237537?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2c5efd92e1
There is also part synthetic stuff on their too. Just wondering what people use and what experience theyve had.
My car is a 2000 W reg cdx 2.0 petrol manual
thanks marc

Where is this? Has anyone else used any other oils which they would recommend.

How much is the oil?

Semi synthetic 10W40 - SL/CF A3/B3 GM6049M; 5 litres, part number 93165216, £28.10 retail, £20.61 trade, £11.60 Trade Club, all excluding VAT.
Currently on long-term special offer at 4 cans for the price of three. With oil filters at £3.23 each, that's under £18 all in per oil and filter change with TC.

Blimey that is cheap. Do I have to become a full member for the deal? Also you've suggested part synthetic oil. Does the omega prefer this?
-
If you're in the trade, you can get your own Trade Card to get these prices. Most of us on here aren't in the trade, so we join AutoBahn Stormers (ABS) for £20 (when I last looked) and they give you a Trade Card as an automatic part of their membership. ABS has no connection with OOF.
Consensus on here is that the part synthetic oil suits the Omega just fine - especially if you change it every 5000 miles. My personal feeling is that part synth changed frequently is better than fully synth stretched out to 10K+.

Had a look at ABS site and if the heading is to be beleived there is no memebrship if you have a 2.0L 4 pot, only for V6. Any idea if this is fact?

It doesn't say that. It says that you only need an interest in club cars. ;)

..... and if you don't own a V6 then you are automatically jealous of those who do .. so that means you have an "interest" in the superior car ... ergo , that "interest" entitles you to join ABS and get a trade club card :)

Just joined ABS last week and waiting for my membership pack to arrive. Completed application form and £20 cheque or postal order is all that's required.

Cant quite think why I would be jealous ???, seriously I only based my view from their site and the menu saying acceptable cars and mine does not figure, if they are happy for my 2.0L 4 pot then they can have my £20. :y
