if its the one for fog lights/spots, its an led and soldered to the board. back light just prise out unit from conners, and bulb is on back.

Is the soldered LED available from Stealers only or can it be bought from, say,Maplins.
I cant ever remember seeing the front and rear fog light switches illuminated but perhaps they havent worked for years.!!

Is the LED bulb in each of the front and rear fog light switches or are they inside the main headlight switch and the illumination is fed via a light tube ?
Found from previous posts the main headlight switch has a bulb and holder and the 2 fog light switches are soldered LED,s

the light for the front and rear fog light switches are fed via a light tube which also illuminates the dash light brightness adjuster and the illumination for the main headlight switch is an led soldered insinde the switch itself. If you put two small screwdrivers each side of the headligth switch and prise it out you will find the bulb for the fog light switches on the back of the main switch. A simple turn of the bulb holder and it will drop out. The bulb is a t5 i think.
Hope this helps :y

if led's gone you can get them from bay few pence, they are the small type think one green and other orange, you can open the case with two flat head drivers and pull off, then prise the board out. there is an led at top of the board that is the day time light, then bulb in the middle, then at bottom of the board is the fog/spots let and front fog led.

Thanks for advise.... :y...but I have now got 2 completely different answers :o
On the one hand I am advised it is an LED that feeds the 2 fog light switches and the dash dimmer slider:as advised by freecall666
Other option is a single bulb that feeds the switches by a light tube.as advised by:omegalpgv6
Please could somebody confirm which option it is..car is a M/F Elite with front/rear foglight switches below main headlight turn switch. This illuminates as it should but no light on foglight switches or dimmer slider.

These are the tell tales in the actual cluster, NOT the switches.

Just to add, ::)
Been and checked mine, f/l, headlight switch only lights up with ignition ON. No lighting in the fog light switches themselves, which doesn't really help. The tell tales in cluster work as they should. :y

The buttons are lighted up by the bulb on the rear of the switch.
But the indicators are lighted up by led.
The bulb on the rear is twistlock with a soldered bulb so you will have to replace the twist lock.
Note: This is from an Opel and not vauxhall. (Don't know if there is any difference)

Right I think I am nearly sorted but still require a bit more help guys :)
I have removed the main headlight switch and removed the original T type bulb and holder which was an orange .I have fitted what I thought was a working T type bulb with 1.2 watt on the housing and it had a black housing.Put it all back together and then turned on the ignition and the small telltale lights above the main headlight dial were illuminated..Then turned on the headlights and still NO illumination from behind the foglight switches or the dash dimmer switch so must assume :D the bulb I have just fitted was no good,so back to square 1,although I know understand how the thing works :y
Can somebody confirm the wattage and the bulb holder colour I require for the back of the headlight switch so atleast I get the correct type :y
-
Bulb is a grey holder 1 or 1.2W. At top of switch you also have an LED soldered to the PCB

think its a 3wat, but can get a 5wat one as well depends on you. mine are all coverted to led, have no bulds in dash at all.

Thanks again guys :y :y :y
Will source a supply for a couple of grey 1.2 watt bulbs.
The spare one I fitted must have also blown prior to fitting :-\ so was never going to work :'(

Thanks for the replies, I also had the same issue.
