Title: Cruise fitting
Post by: Bob G on 29 September 2011, 15:53:51
Today got round to seeing if all the bits for cruise would fit bearing in mind thta the ecu for the gas is located were the cruise sits, fitted cruise unit, ok, will cabel reach ok, worked out how to refit ecu, stalk fitted, brake switch fitted.  Sounds good, onlt thing have not fitted cruise in place yet as the retention of the throttle cable has me stumped.  It has no obvious circlip/retaining pin, but sticking out from the lower part of the ball is a very tiny pin, is this the retaining pin

2.0L  Other than that the fitting is a easy task.

It is, but look above the ball too. It wraps around the upper part of the ball after it's been fed through a hole that's inline with the cable ..................... difficult to explain, a lot easier to do  ??? ??? ::)

Thanks will take another look, have the small piece sticking out below and to the front and what looks like a piece of wire wrapped behing the ball, they seem seperate so could they have snapped? at least i am on the right lines.

That sounds as it should be.  :y
The clip as shown in the picture is ready for being withdrawn ie it's ready to be clipped in place if it was being fitted.  :y
