afternoon all .really need your help again !!!! :'( :'( :'(
well on the way to work last night me omega estate 2.2 auto lost power and began to squeal more when i reved the car slightly. anyway i pulled up to see if i could see a problem and before i could the car stalled and would not start again .i managed to get it towed home where i have looked at it .
I have
1. checked the timing . all seems too be right
2. took the aux belt off to see if squeal was from a pulley .
3. checked oil and sensors all secured on right .
Anyway now i start the car and the squeal still there and its missing as running really rough.
Does anyone have any ideas as its just passed its mot with flying colours with no faults .
Dont know what else to look for now and i really need the car for work .
Many thanks to you all helping me out last time and hopoefully again . :y

I had a squeal on my 2.2, which was rev related too, it turned out to be a cam-belt tensioner :y
However mind never stalled :-\
Because its running rough, checked the plugs?

changed the plugs and coil pack about 2 weeks ago as it went down and not start .once i did that it ran great untill now .
as for the tensioner i found a new one i brought for a old car so i put it on and still the same ..
I think if it keeps up with this i shall have to get rid i think as i need a reliable car for work ..

same on mine cam belt Tensioner. lucky way on low revs. made jump one cog.

only squeals when u rev car up . checked exhaust manifold and it seems to be coming from there or round there . so ive taken it off only to find a broken stud sticking out by half inch . so now got to get that out now .
im sure things cant get no worse . lol

hi all just a update on the above problem .
I changed the exhaust manifold gasket and the car starts now with no high pitch squealing . Must have been squealing as it was a metal gasket so all is good now .
The problem i have is that it sems to ahve a flat spot and not as responsive as it was .I have checked the timing marks all line off as i took the belt off to check pulleys and tensioner.
