Title: settings for 4 wheel alignment???
Post by: MaxV6 on 05 October 2011, 11:59:13
i'm vaguely aware that there are some non std specs for alignment , toe in and camber,  for older miggys.

my mv6 has 132k on her, and is having all new shocks, wishbones, drop links, AR bushes, and tyres fitted today....  the garage does 4 wheel laser alignment (a premium blackcircles fitting centre)

so...  what should i ask them to do ???

(£50 extra for 4 wheel laser alignment while doing the rest of the work  seems cheap)

Do you mean 4 wheel alignment (waste of time and money) or the full geometry setup as per WIM? If the latter (and they are approved by WIM for Geometry) then Tony will make sure they have the right settings :y

yeah, that was always my long term plan.....

but since it's in the garage, having the work done  (right this minute) i thought it worth asking.....   before i go and wear bits off my brand new tyres....   ....

man, the inner edges of my old tyres were scary.....

Personally, I would drive it straight out of the garage after having new shocks ect done and new boots, and take it straight down there.  :y

I concur, 4 wheel laser alignment will do sod all to protect your new shiny tyres. WIM it, given your location :y

-1.10 camber for stock suspension
-0.10 toe

But take it to Wim. For full geometric set up. Caster camber toe on the front. Toe affecting camber on the rear.
