Seems that millwalls "Chaos" thread was being hi jacked into a guitar one so thought i would start this.
What guitar or guitars do you own?
List 'em if you've got a few ?
Anyone own a pre '65 fender strat?
I'll start with what i've got :-[ :-[ :-[
2007 Burns Marvin signiture reissue serial N0. 004
Custom built hand made '62 replica Stratocaster in fiesta red , made by Alan Braison from Newcastle in 2002. Custom shop '54 p/ups, clay dot rosewood neck, mint green scratchplate & 1 or 2 minor wiring mods.
1984 Fender Japan '57 re- issue Stratocaster, Fiesta red, Seymour Duncan Antiquity u/ps, bit road worn this one, done a hell of a lot of gigs as my main guitar.
Fender squire telecaster '52 replica, translucent blonde, only £250 , but amazing for the price.
& lastly my fave at the moment, a Stratocaster "Bitsa" I put together myself from bits laying around/ '80's Fender japan body, recent Classic strat "Biffy Clyro" rosewood neck, seymour duncan VS1 p/up's, vintage trem with short arm. Love it ;) ;) ;) it's just one of those guitars that works , never goes outta tune, sounds brill . As i had most of the parts , total cost probably under 100 quid ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
Over the past 40 years i've had more guitars than hot dinners ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D but the original '62 strat was the best :'( :'( :'( :'(

Have a 2002 (or 03 ?) Fender Strat USA (American series) Olympic White, with maple neck.
Also have a Strat copy somewhere in the loft - Hondo iirc, maple coloured body & neck
Have a Stagg jumbo acoustic in Black that I bought for my son to learn on a few years ago.
DId have an early 70,s Sunburst USA Strat with rosewood neck. I bought it in 77, sold it in 79 as I had lost interest and could nt be bothered bringing it with me when I moved to England. Whadda mistakea to makea. ::)

I do fancy a Les Paul, but it would have to be an Epiphone. The genuine Gibsons are out of my budget, particularily as I very rarely play anyway.

This is mine, a nice yamaha bass which the wife got me for Christmas. A friend of my neighbour's daughter is giving me lessons. Once good enough I'll be looking to jam some blues with some mates :y

I believe that Pitchfork has a 1959 Strat iirc.Value ? around £30,000 I would think.

Hank Marvin's original strat was a '59 . . used on all the early hits Apache, Wonderful Land, FBI etc. I,ve played that guitar !
Bruce Welch has it now . seem to remember he told me it's insured for a £150,000 :o :o :o :o :o :o

Dave Gilmour (Pink Floyd) has a Strat with serial number 00001 - God knows the value of that one. ;)
Most expensive one ever sold was Claptons Blackie afaik.Just over a million dollars iirc. He has sold several hundred guitars and a similar number of amps in the last few years to fund his Crossroads centre, for drug/alcohol rehab.

I reckon Humbucker also might have a nice collection if he sees his thread. ;)
-
Ah, guitar thread, excellent!
I have a fender strat which , although a 79/80s CBS USA model, plays really nicely though its surprisingly heavy. Its a natural (now honey coloured)finish with rosewood neck. Also have a Rickenbacker 360 12 string in fireglow from about 1995 (the one with the rounded horns a la Roger Mcguin rather than George Harrison) and an Ovation aplause electro acoustic which, whilst from the cheaper end of the Ovation spectrum ,has a really nice tone and which I use most. Id love to add an Epiphone casino, Les Paul SG, Gibson 335, Fender telecaster and a Gretch white falcon plus a nice acoustic maybe a Martin or Tanglewood. Well, I can dream...... ;D
