I need to replace my windscreen, what started as a small crack is now a copy of the river Nile lol.
Just been quoted 529 euros(£472).
Thought this was a bit steep so decided to call RAC windscreens in the UK for a quote.
Very helpfull Lady on the phone understood i was not in the country at the moment and quoted, wait for it
£276 fully fitted inc VATand new seals,no hidden extras oh and if car in UK will come and fit any place of my choice.
How can a major Autoglass company in Spain justify almost double the UK price.
May go against my better judgment and live with a cracked windcreen untill i drive back to UK in November.

Rob,
had a similar problem here, yes the screens are expensive from a glass replacement service,
however the glue is available really cheaply, and its not such a difficult job if you take your time,
as we aint in the rainy season yet, maybe try it yourself?
secret is to cut the nozzle of the tube in a "v" so you get around a cm high of bonding adhesive all around the screen surround, then when you place the screen onto postion it presses down all the glue and goes nice and level!!
I did a smart car was a little worried about getting it right but it turned out perfect, must admit i did do it in the workshop though!! just in case!!

Ah sunshine, still paying for that..................
Drive it back to the UK! Think of it as an adventure you missed when you were 21. If you get stopped it just happened when you hit a great big pothole . The cops would believe that............ :y

Try 5 attempts at fitting a screen into an Omega, shoddy parts (e.g. very poor quality pattern items) and crap fitters.
Here is the thread from go number 5:

To be fair to RAC, I had no choice and had to use them in the past. The first time they used crappy pattern stuff but the second time the guy used genuine Vx parts and said that (after many complaints ::)) they had started using genuine parts :y
That said, I'd still avoid if at all possible as the quality of fitter seems to be a bit hit and miss :-X ::)
