Title: omega turbo project.

hi i am new to the forum i have been doing a 3.0 v6 turbo project and i have rebuilt the engine and put de-comp plates on to lower the compretion all went together smoothly and now the crank wont turn by hand but will turn like it should on the starter motor i checked the timing loads of times wen i did it and went to start it and it fires but wont start o have checked every thing replaced coil pack,ht leads,spark plugs it has fuel pressure there were flames coming out the inlet i have put the camshafts in the right way as i double checked them i am at a complete loss now has anyone got any ideas

Will it not turn at all by hand or does it turn so far and then stop?

de-compression plates will alter your cam timing quite a bit.

I'd suggest to set up the cams using measurements and ignoring the marks on the pulleys.

you basically need to find TDC ( marked on the pulley ), line the marks up on the cam pulleys to head and ignore the marks on the belt.

hi there thats what i have done and still no joy i saw a thread on a ka with the same set up as me and he had trouble with his timing and needed to be set up differently because of the de-comp plates.
