Just been given a Sky+ HD box so now I need to know if I can just plus it in and use my Sky+ (not HD card).
I know I wont get HD channels but will get the advantage of HDMI connection and a larger disk.
Thanks in advance ...

hi, noticed that you are on lpg. Since the conversion have you ever had a problem with ride height? Mine catches on speed bumps etc when I have a load.

No probs at all. 45 ltr tank is a doughnut in spare tyre well.
Been to France this year with two kids and a boot load of gear, half tank of petrol and full tank of gas and arches didnt even cover tyre tops.
Saw your post and thought to myself that you have some other problem other than the weight of fuel. More likely weakness of suspension. Others on here more qualified than me to advise
Hope this helps .... :y

Card needs to be paired to the box. Pop it in, may work. But will need to call up and get it repaired. Box will need duel signal inputs, which you should have already.

To clarify tunnie's post, he means card and box re-paired, rather than box fixed ;D

No probs with either of my Omegas dragging. Both have good working suspension though :y

soooo.....does anyone have any idea what the ride height should be or even what it is on their own omega?

Ride height isn't relevant. One of mine is lowered. Actually, they probably both are ;D
But the suspension is decent ;)

Unanswerable question, too many variables, tyre sizes, brand, shocks age, springs age, type of shock/spring and so on...
90L tank in back of mine, on standard shocks and springs, no issues, never had mine ever catch a bump :-\

SKY answer.....Not LPG off thread waffle ::)
The new Sky cables are twin pattern and not singles as were the older ones. When Engineers install Sky they will only connect the cables to the dish that are required for that installation. i.e. if you have basic (not +) Sky then it is likely they will have only connected one of the pair to the LNB on the dish (they do it to stop the owner from doing an easy upgrade), if you had Sky+ then they would have connected both. To receive both signals used by the Sky+ box both must be connected to the dish and box. Either one will work at the box end for basic Sky as long as they are connected to the dish. Just try them both to see which gives the signal.
As said before the box and card have to be paired by telephoning Sky Customer Services before they will work together. They ask for the details of the box and card and will not pair them if they are reported as being 'dodgy'. I know of a few who have had police visits after buying car boot ones!
Basc question answer is that yes, the Sky+ box will work and simply accept Sky basic but with the present low offers why not upgrade it to Sky+ yourself and receive the benefits of a new box and frozen fees for 12 months and free installation?
That would be the thing to do .............
