Sorry but this is not new. It has been going on virtually since the invention of the jet washer. Have you ever noticed how clean the door shuts etc. are on cars on forecourts ? well this is how it is done. As for use on seats, again nothing new. I have even seen it done on dashboards with no ill effects.

Chances are any used car that has been on a used car forecourt has gone through this.

My door shuts are usually just as clean, but never used a power washer to do it.. I've always used a bucket of hot soapy water, cloth and elbow grease, works very time  :y

I am sure yours are very clean  ;) As individuals we have the time to do it properly, used car dealers and valets do not, so it it is the quickest way possible for them and it works.

speaking as a professional valeter with over 20 years experience  i have never done or seen anyone use a power washer on the main dash . the amount of electrics in modern cars  makes it harder to valet ie ecu's and cd changers under the seats ,phone kits .any main dealer worth there salt would sack on the spot anyone doing that .  :)

Sorry I should have been more specific, I meant the dash top bit if that makes sense. I left the trade in 99 so last cars I saw being done where around 98 or 99 cars. Less ECUs and things to go wrong, in fairness we mainly worked on lower end models so much easier.

A good sign is when you pass dealers who allways have the hatchback open during the day, it aids the drying process.

Can I ask if you use a pressure washer by the door hinges ? as many cars had/have ECU etc by the door pillar (A post)
