Title: Winter tyre choice
Post by: amba on 11 October 2011, 15:34:08
Planning on fitting winter tyres onto a spare set of standard M/F Elite wheels I have had for some time which originaly had 225/55/16 tyres fitted on them.

Have rad that it is better to reduce the width of the tyre for winter, therefore would it be wise and practical to fit 205/55/16 M/S tyres to these wheels as it seems to be a bit cheaper than the 225,s.

It is wiser cheaper and more practical but you must follow tyre datas written in car's papers. I know tyres for mine should be 225/55/16 or 195/65/15 (for winter tyre). So I paid 35e  on MOT to sign in 205/55/16 due to major insurance company issues if there would be a crash with my car fitted with wrong tyres
