would it be impossibly impertinent if i asked/suggested that the number of PM's incoming is highlighted somehow??   i occasionally miss them as they come in if i'm not expecting one.....       just a little yellow highlight or something contrasting against the tasteful blue-grey would be really very helpful....

You can also set in your profile so you get a popup to notify you, might help make them more noticable
