Title: High Wycombe date set
Post by: Terbs on 13 October 2011, 14:13:08
The final date for the High Wycombe meet is 5th November

I will be on site from 10.00am :y

Venue is.......Hazlemere Community Centre, Rose Avenue, Hazlemere, High Wycombe, Bucks. HP15 7UB Access to the venue is within easy reach of M40....M1....M25....A40....A4.....A404
Premier Inn is 3 miles away.
I would now appreciate postings for definates to attend, so to see if its worth going ahead as we want to know what rolls and food to get. Initial response was encouraging :y

If anyone coming wants their own food heated up, we have two ovens. ;)   BBQ available.
Bar (exclusive use) open from 11.00am for beer, etc and soft drinks. Tea and coffee on the go all day.

Once it is known whether anyone with a Tech 2 is attending, I would suggest sending them a pm to 'book' a slot.
Look forward to seeing you there :y

As the previous meet members agreed....super venue

As last time...we are doing some rolls, cheese/tom, etc......sausages, plus bring your own if required.
BBQ (gas) will be set up...its under cover if it is wet.....feel free to use. :y
There are a couple of takeaways at the crossroads...don't know opening times.
Some plonker has now booked the back bar for a caberet from 8.00pm, so we will need to be clear by about 7.30pm latest :y

And order a bed for the night, and make a dent in that pile of liquid hops in his utility, before starting on his impressive port collection?

People south of the M3 clearly have a drink problem :P

I blame it on our proximity to the French. Speaking of which, Guffer, we had that bottle of red with Sunday lunch last weekend. Very nice. :-*

Glad to hear you enjoyed it, I was very pleased with it.  I wish I had got more but was suspicious as it was BOGOF.  But then I need little excuse to drive over to France for the day  ::)

I have a brew day coming up if you are interested in learning about real beer, plus I will be doing a brew of a Stella type beer for my Brother to slosh over Christmas.

I might have some drinkable Timothy Taylor Landlord clone by then as well although it may yet be a little green still (bottling tomorrow)  I made some more of the Weissbier, but I will keep this one for Christmas  ::)

Right, Guffer...can I put you in the meet programme as a ..'lecture by Guffer on the merits of home made beer' ;D ;D ;D

This would fit nicely in the slot after Big Al gives us a Shadows rendition on his guitar ( believe me, he is bloody good)
This is looking like a fantastic meet again,,,, :y
Is anyone staying at the Premier Inn Friday night, for the pre meet meal ????? ;)

Should Big Al not be able to make it ( I am assured he is pulling out all the stops) I have his CD ;)
Is anybody coming that could do a pressure test on my cooling system, as I am losing water, but can't find any leaks and engine is sweet, etc. Please, no posts as to what it could be, trolled the site so have ideas. We'll sort it on the day :y

Hiya Paul....
Last meet, Mark and Lisa from Kent plus Big Al and Swmbo from Essex stayed at the Premier Inn, and me and Swmbo went down and had a meal with them...brilliant night, except I had to drive home >:(
Don't know if anyone is staying this time, but Big Al is hoping to. Have heard through grapevine that Mark ( Alarming man) may not be able to make it on Friday, but hope he can make it Saturday

I'm afraid I won't be able to make this meet. Unfortunately a new indicator relay for the estate, four 17" Elite wheels refurbished and two new tyres for the V6 (and it's looming MOT) and trying to make a start on the boys Christmas Present lists has wiped out my wages until payday on the 15th....

Sorry All, was looking forward to this meet.

Work has been just a nightmare recently.  Constantly being let down by suppliers who don't have a clue on how we work in the real world.

Also missed the recent Essex meet for same reason .

I wish we could have made this one :( We have guests and even if we didn't, there is absolutely no way on Earth that SWMBO is fit enough for a long journey and socialising so soon after surgery :'(

Perhaps next time ;)

Well done, sounds like another great Bucks meet :y

Paul, we all totally respect your ( and swmbo's) situation. Would have been silly to come all that way. Have no fear, I will set up more meets in the New Year :y
Good news.... I just hope that the new business has taken off enough that I can employ someone so I can have the time off! ::) ::)

With the number of numpties around, I'm sure you'll be well away :y Turns out I missed nothing by not working this weekend :-\
At least as your own boss the descision of when to work is (in theory) yours. :y

Yes and no... It's a 24/7, nationwide business (I have bought a franchise) so I am responsible for arranging cover ;)

Could you arrange an area swap? Say a weekend on call in another area, in exchange for a weekend on call in a B+B in Bury StEdmunds? :-\
Seriously though, I do sympathise with the time/work enigma. My breaks tend to be governed by the bank, so invariably I end up at work, Newent being a case in point. :-\
