Hi,
I have recently replaced the thermostat on my 3.0 V6.
The engine temperature gauge holds at 85 C rising to just below 90 C then drops back to 85 C when back on an open road.
After 15 miles the gauge increased to 90 C with the fan cutting in at approx 95 C.
Having gone through the job of replacing the thermostat (genuine part) I just want to know if the above readings are correct?
Any help would be great - I would hate to have to do the job all over again! :-[
Cheers
Andy

Exactly what mine does, but stays at 82 if the air con is on. Mine is a 2.2

Thanks Guys!
Drove it again today and it stays around 85 C around the doors - Rising to about 90 but drops back down to 85 C when on the open road. When its stationary the fan kicks in at about 93 C.
What concerned me was the fact that the temp needle moves about so much! On other cars the needle usually reaches a half-way point and remains there without such fluctuation?
Before the old thermostat failed it would always be 90 C or over. With the new one I get the above results.
Hopefully - it is now perfect - but the fluctuation of the needle concerns me a little ???

Same reason I thought there was something up with mine - but I've been told it's entirely normal on these cars, too :) (Mine sits at ~85C on a run, 90C around town, same as yours - although mine is a 3.2)
