Unfortunately not in a good way. Just got belted by a 61 plate Insignia on the way home from BigYins place. AAAAARGH.
Is a mobility car. Hopefully insurance recovery wont be too painful...
-
ouch! :( you and all passengers ok?
-
all well, update to follow, happened in services so just in security office getting cctv :y
-
Jeez mate, hope your ok. No one injured I hope... anything I can do for you, just ring/txt me :y
-
Frustrating news indeed james - hope the aftermath isn't too painful given the hoops that insurers expect us to jump through in such circumstances. :y
-
I hope and anyone else that was with you are alright....
FFS another one? What is going on?
-
Really sorry to hear this, James. :(
-
We're going to need an OOF panel-beater before long :(
Glad it wasn't too serious James
-
Or just some OOFer's to beat the prats who keep hitting us! We're not exactly driving a small car ::)
-
Sorry to hear James. Does seem to be alot of it about atm. :(
-
are u ok james not the best way to get home is it sorry james

+1
Its not even snowing yet. >:(
FWIW those Insignias do tend to come off worse when they hit Omegas. The one that spun into mine was crushed rather than repaired, Stuffed n/s/r quarter and rear axle pulled off :o. Only needed a couple of panels and bumper on mine afterwards. ::) Big cars rule :y
-
HI guys. Happened as follows. Was parked in services, while the insignia rammed me. Garage are burning me cctv. Hopefully damage limited to a screwed rear bumper! Just dont need the grief. If people didnt drive about like they didn't have 2 minutes to live, this wouldn't have happened. Most accidents are from pure selfishness and inconsideration...
-
i agree with that james
-
is the rear bumper on an mv6 facelift a standard one?

Think so :y

Buggerit buggerit, bugggerit bugggerit Sorry to hear that James..... the nature of the cosmos's sense of humour implies that it's a complete and utter idiot that likes to piss off Omega owners,,.
-
and i really have to demand an edit button..... or learn how to call people rude names without being sanitised by the forum filters....
-
Sorry to hear about that James hope that it works out ok for you in the long run...

Ok here's for a proper update, apologies for short posts, I've only had my phone for internet, and it's annoying!!
Here's what happened. I was sat in a parking space in the services, engine off, handbrake on, stuffing my face with a burger king ::) (rare treat!). When the insignia, which was reversing out of a space behind me, clobbered me at some speed.
Insignia - it was a mobility car. Damage appears to limited to rear bumper on mine. scuff and stress fracture.
The worrying part: The bloke basically said "let me know how much it will cost to fix yours", said he'd send me a cheque, and get "his mate" to repair his mobility 61 plate insignia!!!
Hmmmm
I called his ins co this morning. I told them what happened, AND TOLD THEM THERE WAS CCTV ;)
They called me back just now - they've not got hold of the bloke all day.
I reckon, he's going to wriggle, and say it was my fault, or knock for knock.
I'll fight it all the way........
-
and i whould to james
-
Personally I would have given him the option of going to the cashpoint at the services and handing over £200 cash, and then both drive off with no paperwork or ins. involvement. wnd hand bumper £50 ish.A bit of wedge in your wallet foe the hassle. ;)
-
Wnd should read 2nd. ::)

Me too. A non-fault "I wasn't even rather moving!" accident appears to be worth about another £100 on your insurance premium, so recent experience has shown. If this is how honesty is rewarded... ;)
-
Tough luck indeed James. As you were on the way back from helping another OOFer, I'm reminded of the saying "No good deed goes unpunished" :'(. Good luck with the insurance, you should be fine with CCTV to back you up. :y
-
His insurance company can't bleeding get hold of the bloke. I just feel it in my bones, he's going to wriggle on this one.
I was tempted by the cash idea but decided against it. It was heck of a bump, and if it's damaged anything else I'd lose out then. There was also a lot of damage to his 11 plate insignia, which was a mobility owned car, not his - and I just wasn't comfortable with it.

Ahh.. in that case, his insurers likely to be involved anyway, and they'll ask who he hit. :-\
Did you get CCTV footage in the end?
-
Yup, I did get CCTV footage.
However.....
RESULT, it's not needed. Chap has accepted liability.
My pride and joy is off to Bristol tomorrow afternoon for repairs.
I am being provided with, wait for it, an Insignia!!!
-
Result :y let us know how they compare as many interior parts are the same as the Mig... :)
