The battery went dead on my alarm remote so I replaced the battery and paired it with the car :y
No problem.
Found a spare remote off a old car and replaced the battery.
Tried to pair it in the same way .............. no luck :(
Can a pre facelift have 2 remotes ?

You just resynchronised a remote back to the car after battery replacement. You need TechII to code A N Other/new fob to the car.

Just to make sure i'm reading this right ............ you know what i'm like :-[ ::)
The alarm will only except one remote unless configured by a tech 2 too accept a second one ?
Sorry for the question, head up arse / bad few days ::)

Yes (although will have come with 2 at new, but who knows where the other is now)
The car can be configured to accept up to 4 iirc.
They are normally programmed to both the alarm and the immboiliser as separate system.

If its an RF remote, extra keys can be programmed, up to a maximum of 5. Requires Tech2 to do this, along with the carpass.
If its IR type (94 and 95 models), it requires a Tech1
If the key has been programmed to car, but just lost sync, then you can do the resync procedure...

Its a p reg / 97 model 2 button Rf remote ( seperate to the key ) so tech 2 it is :)
I'll stick it on the list of things to do ;D
Thanks all :y
