Title: Saw a Quad bike today..........
Post by: Ken T on 18 October 2011, 00:04:58
On the M57 :o .

I was coming in from the M62, he was in the outside lane of the M57, at about 40 something mph, the front wheels were vibrating something rotten, you could see them shaking up and down, he changed lanes, a sort of white bulb came on and he came over quickly. I smoothly indicated, changed lanes, pressed the magic pedal, and he disappeared.

Who thinks they are safe on a motorway on one of these ? He did have  a crash helmet on, but I hate to think how much use it would have been in an accident. His head would have been fine, but the rest.......

Funnily enough so did I today, though not on  a motorway, just in town and remember thinking how vulnerable he was, and it was on of those cheap chinese imports, which might, on paper, be legal..... :-\ :-\ :-\

I have a policy about things like that. If it looks bad or dangerous, I get out the way, I don't want to be around when it all goes wrong. :'(

Similar "how dangerous is that", I was closing in and passing an 09 corsa which I could see the rear right corner of the bumper flapping like mad. Passing the car at around 90, sorry 70mph on the dual carriageway, I looked to see that the young girl driving had used brown tape to hold the side of the bumper to the rear wing, which obviously at any speed didn't hold!
I used the right peddle a bit more to get past quick before it was ripped off and put through a windscreen!

The girl didn't have a car in the world, even though it must of been visible in her side mirrors  ::)

Hey ups Ken. Where do you get these magic pedals from? We get lots of quads around here enjoying the zillions of miles of dirt roads. However when you get stuck behind them on a main road in a Quaddle (collective name for a group of quads) and they can only do 40mph top speed, I could do with one of those pedals!

Which she'd adjusted correctly before her journey and was monitoring regularly, of course.. Or perhaps not. ::)
