Hi just had new cat & exhaust right through, new maf meter, new camshaft sensor, fuel consumption now terrible, 18 to 20 mpg. Any suggestions as to what could be wrong. Regards Rob
-
was it better than that before you changed the above parts?
You dont mention which engine you have in your Omega!
Sounds rather low for a V6 though..
-
It's a 2.2 auto 2001 and it was much better.
-
Were the new maff and cam sensors genuine parts ?
-
as far as i'm aware bought from vauxhall spares site

i found that with my 2.2 petrol, same happened to mine after ide fitted a lot of new parts, inc cat,i get 19/20 around town and late 2o,s on a run,i fitted new cam shaft sensor, new cat, lambda sensors, maf, left the battery off for about an hour, this seems to re set the ecu,s values in my opinion, then connected the battery ,mpg was poor at first, and got a lot better after driving around 100 miles, with a mixture of town and motorway driving...

Putting a new set of plugs in may improve things a bit but the 2.2 struggles to better 22mpg around town :(

patterned cats = bad fuel economy
aftermarket maf,cam sensor,crank sensor,lambda sensors = bad fuel economy.
as ive have learned, the omega will only run efficiently on genuine gm electrical parts...imo
