Title: i now know how TB feels...
Post by: Gaffers on 22 October 2011, 09:16:48
I had one of those days where everything either goes wrong or gets on your nerves after a week where I was having poor sleep and work was really winding me up.

I sorted out my upside down lpg tank fitting and went to fill up.  No problem.  Came home to connect to the laptop for recalibration and the wife had 'tidied it away' but could jot remember where.  After searching high and low for nearly an hour it was found in a laundry basket(!)  Then to find the power adaptor!  Then the code dropped from the radio prior to my drive up north and there were idiots all over the roads and nagging from swmbo....

When we stopped at Warwick services I was almost willing someone to have a go at stealing the bike on the back of my car as a watching through the window just so I could go and kick crap out of them!

Anyway, one decent night's sleep later and I am back to normal-ish but boy yesterday I was one grumpy bast......

Your getting to that age Fatboy where you need your sleep more, also still wondering if you can beat someone up so need to prove yourself.... Also if you tidied up after yourself, your Lovely Wife would not have too. Then no doubt got moaned at because she was multi tasking plus inoccently dropping you huge Y fronts on top of your laptop.......
Get a grip ;D

Welcome to my world ;D

Sounds like you blasted up M40, you should have called in, I would have had a radio with code you could have borrowed (assuming ccr600/800/ccrt700).  Not that I would have leant it to you, I'd rather you suffer the wife nagging you ;D ;D

Safe journeys :y

Yup, however the M40 had the lowest concentration of idiots on the whole journey.  The A322(M) was the worst closely followed by the M6.  I missed the M42 out all together due to an accident and went through Birmingstan instead.

Driving back tomorrow pm with every other man jack, with any luck the radio will be back on.  I miss the Archers  ;D

Before a true comparison can be made one question must be answered; did you leave rubber on the road? ;D ;D :y

 ;D

Reminds me of when a school mate of mine got busted for having a party while his parents were away for the weekend.

"What's this in the laundry basket"
"er.. :-[ Don't know. Has the cat had an accident again?"
"How long has the cat been smoking cigars?"
"Er... wibble :-X"

I hope today is a better day, Guffer. :y

Bugger, it seems I may have a sticky lpg injector or the dis pack is starting to go.  Running that one cyl on petrol.for now.  :'(

On the plus side the code for the radio was written on the side so no need to fork out for it ::)

;D ;D Arguably I could do with hanging mine out.. might air the fridge part out a bit and stop it smelling like something rotted in there. (Which er, might be because something did..)

Guffer - that's a sod about the sticky injector :( Can you get LPG injectors rebuilt like petrol ones? It cost me very little to have four petrol injectors rebuilt & flow tested..

clean out the fridge using a solution of bicarbonate of soda....   end of smelly problem....

:y That's on my (long) list of 'things to do around the house' .. the trouble is, the list of 'things to do sat in front of the telly' or 'things to fiddle with in the garage' usually wins.. ;D

Did some googling: http://forum.landrovernet.com/showthread.php/200450-Cleaning-Gas-(LPG)-Injectors

Seems you're pretty safe to clean the injectors with WD40 as it's a mild solvent, and this fella seems to have had good success curing the same problem..

IIRC the dis pack uses one coil per 2 plugs? So it'd seem likely that would affect two cylinders rather than one, leaving the most likely culprit the LPG injector/nozzle, HT lead or spark plug?
Title: Re: i now know how TB feels...
Post by: Gaffers on 22 October 2011, 18:07:16
Cyl 6 works fine on petrol and the plug and ht leads are new.  If the coil in the dis pack was on the way out it might not have enough juice to do 2 fly with lpg....not the most likely which is the sticky injector diagnosis.  Never mind, I'll have a look tomorrow morning but I might just run it down south with 5/6 of the engine on lpg rather than risk the entire back of injectors before I get home.
