here's my latest buy. 3.0 mv6, decent enough. Had to clean the bugger myself though!!
My new daily runner to be :)
Picked up at the weekend, need to swap a water hose and address a non functioning a/c system, and either a blowy manifold or a rattly heatshield, I can't decide what it sounds like.
Then run it for a few weeks make sure it's all good, then go with an LPG kit for it ;)
Will get a thread going on it in due course :)

Kind of- the guy who listed it has a workshop, it was parked outside that but privately owned so not a sales garage type thing. Ive just gotta track down this pipe for the coolant, also wanna give the seats and interior a bit of a do as the previous owner had a dog, they're not dirty as such just covered in hairs! I'm also going to get under the car sometime soon to assess things properly. The rocker cover gaskets have apparently been changed but the right bank looks like it still leaks, so guessing (from my experience) that it was done in a hurry, so will investigate that too.
As for that rattle/blow, I'm going to look with a torch and a mirror and see if I can see anything, if not then I'll just wait and see what falls off in a few months time lol
Ay it's tidy but not a1, a small dink in the bonnet which might squeeze mostly out with a big arse clamp, it looks like a temper Mark with an angry launch of a breaker bar lol and the doors have 1p sized rust pockets in the bottom corner, and the arches will want doing within the next 3 or 4 years but it's defo clean enough for me lol
Then it'll be a case of swapping the insurance over and start using it!

The joys of a v6 :) fortunately for me one of my daily journeys is a 50odd mile round trip, so hopefully it won't be too bad, so long as I avoid 'repetitive sports mode syndrome' and loose a few kilos off the right foot! LPG to come here too..

Looks & sounds like a great motor mate, nice one :y
As MV6Danny said, lpg is the way to go. I've got a 3.0ltr estate lpg'd and I drive it exactly how I want to, either sedately or "lets have fun" mode and not have to worry too much about the fuel bill ::)
£35 will usually get me 200miles, so well chuffed and even more so since JamesV6CDX get his hands on it. The best bit is the lpg system I have is 10 years old and still going strong :)

That's good to know :) i was sceptical about LPG, by the fact that manufacturers don't seem to favour it from the factory as much as they once did, plus my mate who worked at an LPG centre seemed to do not much other than repair old systems. But having said that, I understand a lot of it was down to 'eBay special' cheap kits, you get what you pay for I guess..
Just got a couple of bits to do in the meantime before I start using it, about to go and get an hour or two out there ticking off the list...

As well as getting what you pay for, you need to be sure that the monkeys fitting it, get it right. I've since learnt that a lot of places don't fit the lpg correctly to our migs, so beware. ;)
Mine is only running well because a fellow OOFer by the name of JamesV6CDX, is the man you want to see/talk to. He knows his stuff and has worked his magic on mine :y

I agree.. I'm a strong believer of 'if you want it doing properly...' so I will be fitting the kit myself. Well not entirely myself, I have a close trusted friend who is an LPG fitter so he'll come round one weekend and we'll do it between us. I figure doing it ourselves will help me out with knowing what's what and where it goes, I hate figuring out other people's work when it goes wrong..
As said, it won't get entrusted to the trainee that way ;D and I part with less money ;D ;D

Sorry to go off topic a bit but the £35 / 200 miles does not sound that great - I will put about £80 in my 2.6 auto on a full fill-up and will do 350-400 on that. ok, so you are getting better £ per mile but it does not feel that the difference is that huge to cover the install costs and then to be in profit? Please prove me wrong as I can see potential in getting another low miles v6 at rock-bottom price and doing lpg for my 60 miles a day.

Well, I'm getting about 400 to a tank, or at least I would if it wasn't for the frantic early-o'clock thrash to work lol, so any gains in the fuel being cheaper is a winner to me, especially with the mileage I cover :y
