Title: ccr 2006 sound fault

i have a ccr 2006 fitted in my omega,

when listening to the radio its fine but when you listen to cd the sound only comes out of rigt side of car

has anyone come across this fault before.

would think by what you saying the cd unit is on its way out. have you tryed cleaning it with disc cleaner just in case it just a bit of muck.

Not uncommon to be a dodgy joint on the red connector where it solders to the underside of the main pcb of the radio top section.  Seperate the radio and cd mech and you`ll see the connector on a ribbon cable, check the socket where it is soldered.

Known it to be a laser also though   :'(

not tried cleaning it, if it is a fault with the laser or the unit i will try and source a replacement,

i thought i was because i was playing mp3 cds in it but tried a proper cd and still the same.

By "mp3 CDs" I presume you mean audio CDs you've burned yourself? (Since the unit can't play mp3 files natively)

Check the red connector between the 2 halfs of the stereo. Also check the vertical board in the CDC section is fully home.

I wouldn't even bother with a laser cleaner, thats gonna do more damage than good.

i have taken apart could see any dry joints. so put back together but now says
magasine and wont eject or play cds

any ideas?.

Are you now saying that the cartridge is jammed???

not sure. how do get it out if its jammed?. when you try and change frim radio.to cd it just says magasine on digital display.
