:-\ First class on Friday; and still not delivered with today`s post! :(
....another once trustworthy and reliable British institution being steadily ruined. :'(
-
Disappointing, esp when you are really waiting for something
-
I am going to the Post office shortly.I will make enquiries while Im there. :y
Should have been there by now. >:( >:(
-
Yep, rife it seems. Just trying to think of the last reliable... honorable...honest... Trustworthy... Pro active...upstanding corporate company I.... Oh that's pointless isn't it! ;D
-
I sent an item to Scotland yesterday, first class, from the same post office. Got feedback on fleabay for it today. :(
Had the same when I sent Bigyin an oil cooler he was waiting for desperately.Sent several parcels the same day and his took longer to arrive than all the others.
-
Everything I've ordered from a Toyota parts retailer recently has taken at least a week to arrive (1st Class post) - the Parcel Post item I sent a week and a half ago still hasn't arrived and it looks like I'll end up refunding the bloke and swallowing the loss :(
You almost may as well use a courier, these days..
-
I had been using parcel2go for most things for the last 6 months, but I recently had problems (due to their mistake) with a package sent abroad. There was a lot of money involved (approx. £200) and they dont want to know. They wont even aknowledge what the problem actually is or admit it was due to their mistake. Thier customer service was beyond appalling. The most maddening, frustrating episode I have had in my life. On principal, I will never spend as much as a brass farthing with Parcel2go ever again.I hate them with a passion. >:( >:( >:(

Ah - I too use p2g (at least for high value items), but I've not been unfortunate enough to have a problem with them :) Then again, if an item gets lost, isn't the problem with the ultimate courier, rather than p2g? Although thinking about it, they do have their 'own brand' courier service now as well, don't they? I've not used that yet..
There's interparcel, too, although they proved more expensive last time I looked.
There's always these folks for car parts: http://www.wheelcourier.com/

Fill out the lost item form from the post office, you have to wait a month for it to be officially lost, they then repsond after a month saying looking into it, and will take a month.
then a month later you finallly get a cheque off em.
So 3 months after loss, you finally get your money back....but it is just 1 easy form.
-
And as from next year it will cost just under £1 to send a letter first
Class....don't mind paying for something if it damn well works :y

I spent many hours over 5 days trying to get their website to accept the address I was trying to send the package to.Eventually one of their operators created the order for me.They had to use a different (£25 more expensive) carrier,as even they couldnt enter the address into the original one. They informed me that they had created the order on my behalf and all I had to do was print and attach the label.
I took them at their word and did this, only to find when it arrived half way around the world that they had ommitted the recipients name from the order. A month later they have yet to acknowledge the mistake. Each email from me got a reply giving me info on customs duties in the country the package was sent to.Im still trying to get sense out of them, but its proving impossible.
They are an absolute rather disgrace. To call them appalling is an insult to all things appalling. >:( >:( >:(

i dont expect any thing else from royal mail how they make money i dont know sorry albs same again as mine in april must have sent it via china
-
Sorry to hear of all the difficulties people have been happening.
After a couple of poor deliveries in 2008 I can honestly say that for the last 2 years the mail has been faultless. 1st Class posted 200 miles away at 4pm arriving next morning is not uncommon right now. I feel rather guilty now :-[

"First class is a service of 1 - 2 days delivery time, but it is not guaranteed to be delivered in 1 -2 days".
Wish I had sent it special delivery now. Sorry Debs.
Special delivery seems to be the same as 1st class, except they guarantee to do what they say they will for the extra money. ::)

;) Pup-date:
I went down to the local R.M delivery office to have a whinge about Albs. MAF-sensor package not arriving as expected and spoke with a singularly nice 'parcel-sorter chap', whom said that he`d just had an R.M lorry drop off packages for sorting/delivery tomorrow and that he`d have a look through them and give me a tinkle if there was any joy.
Well, he actually came to my house (16.48 p.m) smiling and clutching my package....Yay!!!!!
Royal Mail should be VERY appreciative of it`s local-office staff; they are it`s bedrock! :y

Glad your sorted :)

I have no issues sending or receiving by Royal Mail. Except posting to Mum. If its not Special Delivery, it will go missing.

Speaking of delivering stuff.. I collected something I bought on eBay recently. I can now tell you that ~400 60cmx60cm carpet tiles will have an Elite estate just about down on it's bump stops, self levelling or not :-[ :-X
-
~400 60cmx60cm carpet tiles
::) That`s quite a pile! ;D
....Where`s the cloakroom? :D

*groan* ;)
They're going in the garage.. well, some 70 of them are. The rest are spares for when I inevitably spill oil/coolant/petrol on them - sadly my garage isn't big enough to require all of them in one go ;D

the recorded delivery tracker is a aware of time as well. every letter i send always says that it still hasn't been delivered. so they obviously don't bother logoing them.
