try Bell, but speak to them....they do play

I got £50 knocked off my policy - £250
and £30 off hers - £300

Just get a quote and say too expensive, see if they come down  :y

I know but I had 2 claims against me & 6 points at the time of renewal.
Should be half that next time around (providing I behave myself  ::) )

I`m going to be switching at next renewal time (April) so I`ve begun shopping-around; I`ve used the price comparison sites with 'interesting' results.....
I`ve tried the same sites on different days (and entering exactly the same details) and got quotes from the same companies that changed by over £100..... :o

I am entitled to use a professional-title (which I don`t normally use for the purposes of insurance etc.) which if I simply substitute for my usual 'Ms.'; the price-search loads my insurance quotes by >25%....even though I declare exactly the same profession in my details.  :(

Getting the 'best deal' seems to be pot-luck at times....Ho-Hum?  :-/

Yeah, I tend to use the comparison sites and then phone the top three on the list and haggle   :y

I used http://www.policyshop-insurance.co.uk/car-insurance.aspx and they were very good.

I pay £340 fully comp with a protected NCB. It would be cheaper but I use the car for business use as well which pushes the milage and price up. Oh and the excess is only £100 too.  :)

I think I need to move. The best quote I've had for my diseasal Astra has been £270 fully comp (12 month NCD) & that needs sorting for tomorrow :( - I think my Omega's is around £450, Full NCD, 46 yr old with 3 points for speeding 2 years ago

I need to find me some insurance in June...

26yrs old
retook my test in 2004 (due to issues getting my licence exchanged from when I first passed in 2000), so wasn't a ban...
6 points (SP50, SP30)
Will have either 3 or 4 years NCB by then (can't remember how much exactly...)

Tried em all....
Best so far is ecarinsurance.co.uk...

Paying 280 pounds fully comp, 150 excess. seems to have all i need, No claims protection,Free legal, Car hire(none fault claims)
Its web based as well so they seem to pass the savings on(though thats what they all say)

Ive mentioned before that we pay £1400 f/c .After reading Debs comments Ive done a similar thing . the wife is being hammered for being insulin dependent diabetic and i get loaded %25 for being disabled.
The only company who weren't bothered about the wife being diabetic and my problems were Direct Line . I can opt out of my current policy but the penalty is high,so I'll probably stay put.

Apart from the usual stuff like how long you have been driving, no-claims etc, the next biggest factor in assessing your premium is your post code. Mine is DH ( Durham ) yet when I had to put down my works address ( NE ) the premium rocketed.

Right! That's the best reason for increasing my fleet back up to the usual 3 or four!  Can I quote you on that for fear of reprisal by swmbo? :D

For the 04 GLS 2.2 full body kit we pay £262 fully comp protected.

I fell out with them over their policy of continual renewal. >:( I phoned to say "Don't renew my insurance next month ...."
The next month they took the annual renewal premium  :o & then said it was because I didn't 'cancel' it!  >:( I didn't cancel cos I wanted the policy to run to the end >:(. W4nkers!
