Title: Bose into non Bose (mini facelift)
Post by: albitz on 26 October 2011, 17:16:38
A bloke bought a Bose amp, loom and speakers off me a few days ago.He wants to fit it into his m/fl (not an elite) with a Bose headunit. He has had a look behind the drivers kick panel, but the connector which attaches to the end of the Bose loom isnt there.
Am I correct in thinking that I will need to supply him with th e plug from behind the kick panel and its wiring up to the headunit,or is the plug in a different place ? Or is there another answer ? :-\
Components came from a 2000 facelift car if that makes any difference ?

No chance, Facelift, that would be either 2006 or NCDC 2013/15?

That aint going to fit in a mini-facelift, not a by a long way....  :-\ :-\

Near the alarm ecu should be a grey plug about 100mm long secured with two nuts (same as the blue one for Bose). Need to swapout the grey for the bose

If this connector isnt there it gets VERY difficult indeed - but possible. I did it for a MFL CD, fitted a Bose system when this connector wasn't there.

Connector isnt there, so I have removed it from the car complete with the various wires which run from it.The guy is coming to collect it tomorrow,,so will see how he gets on. :-\

it's probably best if you ignore the connector and make a loom with the wires based on the wiring diagram instead.

I've done this three times now and it's by far the best way.
