Are these any good for the money? £ 68 each delivered but will have to pay to have fitted.. on 235/ 45/17s

Most budgets are OK in dry, pretty poor in the wet. Except 'Autogrip' which lethal in all conditions.
Given the price, you're probably not far off the KU-31s, which are known to be quite reasonable on the Omega :y

Which my local branch of ProTyre told me they can no longer get.. and offered KU39s, instead..

Who makes the KU39's and how much per corner?

OP - dont fit 225s!

If the Federals are the SS-595's then they are ok fella. The Kuhmo KU39 would be a slightly better bet, but reckon these are about £30 a corner dearer. Have the Federals fella, £68 + £6-10 fitting a corner should see you well. Crap in the snow tho..

Don't get any tyre brand which consists of: Fullrun, Clear, Sunew, Suntek, Sunny, AutoGrip, Antyre, Fullway, Turnpike, Top Tour, Marshall, Aderenza, I actually have experienced all of these tyres and each and everyone has been lethal. The most awful of which I have on my van at the minute are SUNNY S-Something or other, this morning for example on a wet road I took a corner at a relatively low speed, and the van seriously just went straight on, tried putting my foot down to get past another can funnily enough and it was spinning in 4th gear, they are absolutely dire, and tyres are not worth scrimping on. Put it this way they have less grip than a completely bald (I mean completely too) Falken FK452. If it was down to me I'd get a decent set of Part worns from a premium brand.

Federals work really well on Omega and are good for motorway especially as nice and quiet. The wear rate isn't the best though - but it's a worthwhile tradeoff.

DelBoy, gotta agree about Autogrip. Truly awful. Lethal, wet or dry. I thought my time was up last time I drove my Elite.
The Sunew aren't too bad in comparison. Shite, but far better than Autogrip.
A tyre as bad as Autogrip shouldn't be allowed

You can add Runway tyres to that list - shockingly bad.

Couldn't agree more, AutoGrip and Sunny are honestly dangerous, properly dangerous, Clear was also lethal on my 320d. Sunew I had on something, they were the best of the dangerous budget tyres.

After losing my mojo on Tuesday, due to multiple heart stoppers with Autogrip, I can honestly say the last 2 days I have tootled around at 70mph in the Dunlop Sport Maxx TT shod MV6 :-[

They're terrible, I honestly don't know how they actually sell them from a legal point of view, I honestly find it like driving on ice in the wet, it's stupidly dangerous. Never ever again!
