It is with great regret that i have to announce the death of my 2002 Omega... :'( :'(
Following a serious collision with a stolen Subaru Impreza this morning, my vehicle has been taken to the great car park in the sky....
Luckily both me and my father who was a passenger in the vehicle at the time are both well, just a little shaken. Its just so annoying that after all the work i have done on the vehicle it has been taken so abruptly... I will now be waiting to see what the insurance company offer me for it, i wont be holding my breath though for a decent figure in the current market...

Sorry to hear that, never good to have a car written off. But metal can be replaced!
Always reject first offer :y
-
Thanks Tunnie :y
Its just so annoying that the little so and so's just casually looked at me before running away from scene...

Worth buying it back and repairing it ? Get a breakdown of parts etc required. you might be able to put it back together quite cheaply with good second hand parts.Depends on the extent of the damage. :y

Albs, if i could get the hang of uploading a photo to here i'd pop one up to show the extent of the damage, however if i was to say that the NSR Quarter, boot and boot lid etc are no longer attached to the car would be an understatement... :'(

Can you send it me via e-mail
-
Ah,in that case, sorry for your loss. ;)

OMG! Can't believe that Phil. Did they catch the b******ds? :o

Rob, once i manage to get the blessed thing on my computer from my phone i might be able to manage that, only just had a new Mac and its taking a bit of getting used to to sync it with my phone... :D

Was it being pursued? Sounds like it was if the passenger was picked up after the de-camp and the air unit was tracking the driver? It's good that the passenger was nicked but the driver's the prize... >:(

Seconded Phil. As said, at the end of the day it`s only metal. Plenty of Omega`s about if you decide to get another one :y

Including that tasty Elite estate you have Rob. ;) :D
Did you sort the ABS ECU problem it has btw ? :-\

Sorry to hear of youre loss,
but hey you can allways replace a metalbox, youre health and wellbeing are far more valuable,
hope the insurance company dont give you any hassle, never take the first offer,
-
Sorry to hear Pippin, that's awful. :(
Hopefully you'll get enough from the insurance to get yourself another one as there's plenty of decent Mig's still about. :y
-
Frustrating and annoying - without doubt. Hope you can get things sorted out before too long. :y

So is that about a dozen Mig crashes in the last 2 weeks on here alone? FFS won't be many left at this rate.
Sorry to hear of your misfortune and hope they catch the scrotes.

Hi All
Just a quick update...the Police at present haven't managed to arrest the driver... :'( my insurance company today have confirmed that the vehicle is to be written off, I am just waiting for the decision on valuation, hopefully in the next couple of days...
On a more positive note, I have managed to obtain a replacement vehicle (Unfortunately not an Omega), I couldn't refuse the offer, a 2006 Vauxhall Signum 1.9CDTi with 47k and a full Vauxhall service history from my local dealers where I get my parts from...hopefully pictures to follow in the gallery section if this is allowed... :y

Gutted for you Phill, that you lost your pride & joy. Hopefully you wont be
ripped off & raped out of pocket because of this! Looking forward to seeing the pictures of your new car though.
Are you able to still join us this month?
-
Hi Dave
The way insurance companies are nowadays there is no doubt their offer will be rock bottom...
UNfortunately I can't make this month as I'm working both dates that have been suggested... :(
