Title: Front brake pads Question
Post by: Crazycarzowner on 27 October 2011, 19:11:14
How how many miles roughly (I know we all have different driving styles) would you expect from a set of front brake pads??? Only asking because when I bought my Miggy back in Feb '11 it had had new pads fitted at 53k ( I know this is right because I did check em at the time). Its just coming up to 61k now & this afternoon I took it for 4 new tyres. The fitter called me over to look at the car & I thought 'here we go tryin to prise more £££ out of me' but when he said 'look at the pads' I was quite shocked as there is barely anythin left  :o :o :o
I know what I'll be doin on my day off tomorrow now  ::) At least it should be easier that the rears were.

I get around 6-8k from Tradeclub pads, though thats only half worn, as I tend to change them at about half worn.  Sometimes less if I've really cooked them badly (they never fully recover).

I'm probably in the 'quite hard on brakes' category.

Hmmm, I didn't think I had a heavy foot for braking. Have to see what make of pads come off tomorrow. Got some Mintex ordered for tomorrow. I'm assuming they weren't good quality ones that were fitted last time but heyho.
