I was (rightly) told off for posting something that wasn't constructive yesterday in GenHelp - and it appears others are doing the same on this thread - so let's all of us remember this particular board is for helping with problems.
Chap might not be wanting to profit, but to sort a reliable set of wheels for himself?
I personally don't know the diesels that well, but OP, you need to start by reading the fault codes.
Where in the country are you, there may be someone nearby who can help :y

I'm not offended chaps. I had a manual td mig before and i loved the car, or rather the engine. It had a bit of an accident, so i bought another one but it was an auto, had so much grief with that. I just need a cheap td mig, manual, so if I could sort out this one and pic it up for 300, it would do me well for a year atleast.
Now any ideas on the problem at hand or is it going to be another round of laughs?

Hiya fella,
According to below, it could be a code 19 which i think would be a crank sensor

If you could go and paperclip test it then you will find out if it's an easy fix or not

it was partially blocked fuel filter/lines. A friend of the seller fixed it for him, he then wanted 700 for, twice what we agreed on so I didn't buy it.
thanks everyone.

Arse!! A friend of mine had a similar story- we went to look at a car, an ol' Volvo estate t5 jobbie, lucky he called the guy before we left as the guy had received big interest in the car and literally had DOUBLED his asking price!!!
