Title: V6 3.0 Cold start video
Post by: Peter13 on 27 October 2011, 21:01:21
I have made a video how my 3.0 V6 starts from cold. It did the same last winter.
Can it be an air leak? However, it did the same last winter and the heads has been rebuilt since then.
(coilpack, plugs, leads are new, plugs are dry)

My first port of call would be to clean/check/replace the idle control valve, I think..

Yeah, this was on my list last week. I have swapped the ICV for some days with a friend who owns a flawless x25xe. Symptom remained.
I cannot suspect now anything else than a serious air leak (also the map sensor of the LPG system shows 0.1-0.2 bar (~5inHG) of vac which I think is very poor),
but sprayed everything around the engine block without finding it.
Another idea is the timing might be a bit off. But how could 2 different mechanic put together twice wrong?

She is going to the shop next week to have these ideas checked by removing the plenum and the inlet pipes, but this will almost cost me a considerable amount, so I would appreciate any other cheaper hints :)

Thanks!

If garage, I would recommend you Csergő, budget days are often offered for registered members! They know everything about V6 engines. Anyway many people on hun forum suffer from problem like you mostly MV6 owners. Interesting...
