Post by: MikeDundee on 11 March 2008, 20:37:47
Well that time of year again, starts this weekend in Australia, probabaly be the last F1 race in Australia (due to time difference), lets hope Hamilton cracks it this year :y

I lost interest in F1 a few years ago, but before that i would get up at 03.30 to watch the Oz race.
It just got boring with no over taking, grooves etc.
I turned to BTCC instead, much more like it  :y :y

they claim to have ditched the driver aids for this year.it will be interesting to see if it improves the racing,i do doubt it somehow.everyone in f1 should be compelled to watch old footage of gilles villenueve to demonstrate what it means to be a real racing driver imo. :)

i,ll be up all night, as usual  ::)
i admit its been a bit dull but this year the driver has to drive the car, not the TC  8-)
may be interesting again  :-/

Can't wait as I'm a big F1 fan. Used to stay up all night to watch live but in recent years tend to wait for the highlights at a decent hour. ::)

I do think it will be a bit more exiting this year with the various changes AND Lewis Hamilton. Also be interesting to see how Honda and Jenson Button perform this year.

This year is really make or break for me.

Last year was so overshadowed with bitchyness and backstabbing and the manufacturers throwing mud at each other, if it is like that this year then i won't bother

My feelings exactly. F1 isn't motorsport any more. It's a choregraphed parade of advertising hoardings with a load of politics going on behind it.

If I want to watch motorsport I go to the the grass track 1/2 a mile from my house and watch some beaten up old Novas battling it out. Much more fun!

Gilles Villeneuve. Now there was a great driver. in the days when drivers aids were thinks like shiny gearknobs.

I thought the Mclaren thing had been put to bed but no Rons house was raided by the police and evidence secured(and quickly leaked to the Italian police) that Mclaren big wigs knew more than they said previously. Now that is a bad way to start a new season. Max or Bernie should have put a stop to it.

I am just praying for some wet races (not deluges) that shows us who the class drivers are.....

Nonetheless can't wait till new season starts

Ive not watched F1 for a few season's, its not racing anymore, just a parade of expensive machinery with winning and losing due to tactics in the pits etc, not driving  >:(.

that is the best racing i have ever seen! and since they relaxed the already lenient touching rule, it has got even better!  :y mon the V8's!

Oz V8's.

When I lived in England a highlight for me every year was watching the Hardy 1000. Those V8's coming down the mountain were a sight.

Is there a series on TV? If so when and what channel?

Big F1 fan myself... recent years have been a bit boring, but last season held some big promises. If only it wasn't marred by the whole spygate facade!

Hopefully we can see F1 back to proper racing now and less politics/bitching. Look forward to Melbourne  :D
