Title: Viewing Cars Pt3 Spanish style.

Actually it is part 4. The ones in part 3 were uneventful but not for us.

Today we viewed two more Suzuki Vitaras LWB diesel, 100 miles apart.

The first I discarded purely because it had had a new radiator and the garage hadn't put any antifreeze in it and also the oil was just below the lowest Min level, Oh and the speedo didn't work - just the cable. We will fix that. I wonder how long it had been "disconnected". Any service history? and yet again the answer is yes but haven't any bill's at all to prove it. If you get a bill you have to pay VAT. No Bill no Vat.

The second was a bit more dosh but was an HDi 2.0litre. Chalk and cheese compared to the 1.9's we have been looking at. Quite a pokey engine. The vendor was a Suzuki Vitara fan. Owning 3 at present plus his wifes. His and his wifes were mint for Omega aged cars.

It was a first for me to see a car advertised as mint before it was resprayed!. The guy says it will be done by Friday lunch. It has all the usual scratches and abrasions on bumpers  and the sides commensurate with age. On balance I think he did the right thing as I couldn't see any signs of accident damage or replacement panels. A respray will add value and prolong its life (I guess). No towbar and a genuine one(fat) lady owner. Never used off road apparently. Going back on Friday to see it and this may be the one. 

How do you spot a poor quality respray and does it matter?  Cars just don't rust here like they do in Britain.

Check the finish mainly... Look out for an orange peel effect.  ;)

TBH, the way you have described it/him I think it will be fine :y

The second one sounds promising, seems genuine.... :)
I had a 1.6 HDI engine in my C4 Grand Picasso 7 seater, went very well and good on fuel as well..... :y

Sounds like you may be parting with a few euros on Friday.... :D :D :D

i would assume a dodgy respray would seem ''uneven'' although i dont really know.

good luck friday and maybe some pics??  :y

ps when we go on holiday to greece there are always suzuki jimni's. must really spend the few euros extra next and upgrade from kia picanto to a jimny  :y
