So just out of curiosity I got a valuation on my Mig from the extensively marketed internet car buying company........ ::)
2000 2.5V6, 205000 miles, part service history, rust showing on offside rear wing (round lpg filler) otherwise VGC
They offered me................................ £105.00 :o :o :o
Com'on guys and girls make me feel better. What's the lowest valuation we can get? and be honest with your descriptions!!

Expect them to haggle you down to half of that when you turn up. They are for the desperate / stupid only, IMHO. ;)

I think the price is just a marker of how undesirable these big fuel guzzling high road tax cars are nowadays. I thought about a new, small congestion free car for the wife and out of interest asked for a part ex value for my omega sport. 2003/53, 25K miles and mint with no rust at all, fully serviced and brand new tyres. 3 different dealerships for 3 different makes all offered me approx £800 as trade in.
In comparision your car in elite spec is valued by glass as below for a part ex:
Estimated value of your car
Part-exchange Price:
Excellent condition: £140
Average condition: £120
Below average condition: £90
Please note: Unfortunately, we don't have a valuation for the requested mileage. However, we can value this car at 150,000 miles.
So for something that has done 205K miles + rust, they are not way off. Im not saying that you cant sell for more privately, but they are a buisness and what you could get extra privately is their profit margin. The other thing is that these sort of websites are better for more desirable and higher value cars. On a car worth less than 1k, take away a margin of £500 (I was told that is what they operate on) and you have a car that is not worth a lot to sell to WBAC.

Ive only ever valued 2 cars on there, both were old and and each came out at £50.
One was a Vauxhall Astra 1.8 Sport which I ebayed for £400, the other was a old Ford Escort, really basic model, which I ebayed for £200.

I've no intention of selling my Mig, I was just curious to see how shite their offer would be.... ::) I drive a luxery car on Fiesta money, so why sell?? Must sort that rust out though...... :(
-
just done mine on WBAC.com
£235 ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D mine's so well looked after. who would honestly let these bastards get their mits on their car? :-\

I drive a luxury car not a luxery car :-[ and if it didn't have the rust around the lpg filler cap, I too might have got the dizzy heights of £235 :D ;D

Tell you what though! It's a quick, easy and free way to get a trade valuation on a car that I might be interested in buying at auction?? ???
