Title: cruise control fittment
Post by: idwal on 08 November 2011, 15:56:22
can anyone tell me if thereare any mechanics in the south east
who would be willing to fit a cruise control to my MV6
(w reg 2000 with 3.0 ltr petrol)

I have bought the relevent parts off a member in this forum
but ideally would like someone with mechanical knowledge to fit for me (with suitable financial recompence).

I would be willing to travel to have this done.

thanks

Brighton is quite far south for most of people offering services.

You might have to travel a fair distance up north  :(

Its easy to fit.

I'd happily do it, for free, but I'm a rather long way from Brighton ;D

I have to admit this website was one the reasons why I went for the omega.
I had a volvo v70 r with high millage and wanted something with comfort and space
that I could lpg and while I was looking around I found this site and saw all
the useful information and people willing to help.

Hiya Ken,
The maintenance guide on this subject is really VERY good; I bought nearly all the parts* for my retrofit, from another forum member and was easily able to complete the installation alone; using just the guide`s directions.
*I only had to buy the 'E' clip and a 4-pin brake switch from the local dealer.

The worst bit was changing the brake switch, which required a bit of "contortionism" laying head-down in the driver`s footwell, to be able to see the switch high-up in it`s mounting.

Have a go, aside from a wee bit of dis-assembly of the column shroud, it`s very nearly a 'plug and play' job! :y
