Title: new. computer
Post by: pauls on 09 November 2011, 18:03:42
Hi just a quick question i have just been given a computer for the kids. Is there a quick way of copying files/pictures from my old one to the new one. I know you can ghost it but i dont want all the files over. I want to leave them and use the old hd as a backup.
Cheers

Given the questions you are asking, I'd say use a USB key to move them :y

Networking is quicker, but for just a few photos, probably take more time to explain than it would to copy via USB key

If its only data you want to transfer, easiest way is to temporarily fit old hard drive into new PC and copy it across  :y

Possibly for someone not confident to take the tops off their computers ;)

You can tell our junk at work are currently desktops, not towers ;D
