got a missfire at 3300 revs along with gearbox checklight and engine check light today. car is a facelift 2.5 v6 auto.year 00.
wont rev past 3300 revs but runs fine below that. once the miss fire occurs the gearbox goes into limp mode. turn off ignition and fault light goes out untill missfire occurs again.
any takers???

gearbox check light? no such thing?
I'd be checking plugs for oil / water as a starter :y
-
there is actually on the multi function display.. gearbox displayed and check light is lit bottom left.
-
ohhh, thats not good then!
Sounds like you've got another fault here, causing the gearbox to go into limp mode. :-\
-
thats what i was thinking....i understand the gearbox check light can come up in other faults but not sure what?

When I occasionally got this gearbox fault and it going into limp mode it was the crankshaft sensor. It got worse with the engine cutting out when it got hot.
