Hello all, everyone well?

Not sure if this is the right section, happy for it to be moved if not.

I've just picked up my Omega from the garage, who told me the problem with my o/s/r electric window is down to the regulator and will cost £450 + labour + VAT!

A couple of weeks ago I went to open my driver's window and hit the rear window button instead, I heard what I can only describe as a graunching noise and the window went down but wouldn't comeback up.

I was able to pull the glass back up by hand so at least the car is weather-tight and looks secure.

My first thought was that the glass had come off the channel, but the garage diagnosis says different.

I can hear the motor when I operate the button, along with some other unpleasant noises.

I'm not certain that the garage even took the door card off.

Any thoughts?

Remove the doorcard yourself and visually check. You should be able to source a regulator/motor from one of the breakers on here for around £15

Please, please, please ring them back for a break down on that  :o :o :o :o

As Rob says, door motor £15, 10 mins to take off a door card??

Garages who quote like that should be shot on sight!  >:(
