Title: how to remove heated seat switch ?

the heatd seat (drivers seat) switch in my 1996 elite needs replaced, anyone know how to remove it from the dash board without damaging anything ?

it will just slide out, two standard dinner/butter knifes each side & pull  :y

do the knives slip in to the top end bottom or the sides of the switch, have seen a pic of ones on ebay and it looked like the clips holding it  in were top and bottom ?
