Title: Blower Fan
Post by: Tonka. on 14 November 2011, 11:36:21
The blower fan has started making a terrible noise, like a hammer drill, when on high speed.
On low speed it is quiet.

Everything else related to the blowers works. Such as direction and temp control.

I have got the glove box out and the motor is vibrating like mad but the fan has no play in it at all.

What with the seemingly uncurable random misting and now the hammer drill trying to combat the misting I am starting to lose my sense of humour. Driving home at midnight, thick fog, sudden misting and then the hammer drill ha ha  ;D ;D

Any ideas about what is causing the fan noise and how to cure it  :y :y

The bearings have lost all their lubrication, and have now worn badly.

99% of the time, this happens due to the bearings getting wet. 100% of the time, bearings get wet due to scuttle drain filling
