Please excuse a Vectra question on an Omega forum. The car is a Y reg Vectra 2.0 dti cdx with a Philips ccr600 radio/cassette head unit and a glove box mounted cdc3 4cd autchanger. The cd has developed a laser fault, and I have been told its not wirth repairing. When I bought the car, the previous owner left a Blaupunkt cdc2 W1G cd changer in the boot (GMCDC2 W9308701 stamped on the side of the unit), not connected, but told me it works. Is the Blaupunkt unit compatible with the head unit? will the steering wheel controls still work? Do I need any extra leads?
If any one can advise please as my kids are complaining about the lack of their cds.

There are quite a few variants of CDC2 and they are not all cross comapatable.
If you are running a Vectra with CCR600 then ideally you want a CDC2 with part number 7 607 775 320 on the small label
Unusual to find both CDC2 and CDC3 fitted, I would suspect one or both to be knackered, but that said, worth routing around at the rear of the head unit to see if the other changer lead is in there, and if so, swap them over
Steering controls will be unnafected
;)

Some version of the CDC2, but not all, are compatible with CCR600. Mid-spec Omegas (CDX and MV6) come with CCR600 coupled with a CDC2

Thanks. Just to clarify the cdc3 was installed and connected, but laser krackered. The cdc2 was in a box in the boot, not installed. The cdc2 does have the part no. 7 607 775 320. Is it possible to buy the correct leads, If I dont have one?

If you need a lead, then probably better off looking at a Vectra breakers forum rather than an Omega one
