Title: Kickdown
Post by: steadfast on 22 November 2011, 19:46:58
Hi Chaps,
Have had an Elite 2.6 for 3 years and tried using the kickdown for the first time last night in 3rd auto gear as I was going up a steep hill. It worked for 3 seconds and then I lost power and the engine didn't sound good. The Exhaust/engine electronics/immobilizer light came on and stayed on untill I got home (which was not far) and switched off. The next day the car is running fine and no warning lights. Needless to say I have not tried using the kickdown again. The exhaust was brand new when I got the car and looks in good shape as I have done little mileage. Could it be a cat problem?
Any ideas ?

Do the pedal test to read the fault code and post them up
