Just wondering what the consensus was with regard to mobile phone holders in the car? Mine generally stays in my pocket, until it rings, or lies beside the handbrake. I did get an air vent style holder, very cheap, from the bay. Does a good job actually; quite sturdy and holds the phone well, but it means having to remove the case, which is a pain on short journeys. I'm not fussed on screen mounts, so was considering the likes of this as a possible option -

and then fitting one of the clamp style holders to it.
Anyone used these?
Cheers

Why does it need to move from your pocket?

I use these ,

Cant find a UK supplier but I bought mine when in, and since from , UK . Maybe have to do a deeper E bay search.
I have them in all our vehicles and they hold the 'phone well and don't fall off.
On the Omega I attached the base to the spare cover under the hazzard button .

The button for the blind?
Reckon my blind would be up and down like a whores drawers with a phone hanging off it ;D

Blu tooth car kit, leave it in your pocket...
Unless your phone has tomtom or similar, in which case it needs to be high up, but NOT windscreen mounted. Much as I would like to winde a certain admin up with screen mounted devices, I do agree with him(above) that that's for eejits IMO.needs to be below dash level.

I have this, or similar. http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_381915_langId_-1_categoryId_165452
Plastic puck stuck to under side if dash by CID, allows holder to stick, upside down to the picture shown. Does portrate or landscape but not both, which is not ideal for iPhone. Plus it rattles if no phone in it unless clamp is closed.

Welcome to the world of sensible people. On 90% of Omegas, dead easy and cheap to fit a bluetooth kit working through the stereo system. About £20 for 2nd hand units.
But people have a homosexual fascination with the overpriced junk from the likes of Parrott and co, which always look unsightly in most cars.

Are you talking about something with an FM transmitter, or referring to an aftermarket head unit?
Be grateful if you could point me in the right direction TB, for further options.

Most Omegas are prewired for phones (ie, phone in and mute lines nicely presented).
Nokia CK-7W control unit, Nokia CK-7W button, Omega Autoleads for Nokia, and a Nokia Mic (not always needed) should be available for under £20 (I've never paid more). Its all fairly plug and play, though if you need to fit mic, that takes time.

Didn't know that! Maybe the Nokia route could be adapted to suit other makes.
