So I have this at home thanks to Debs :y :y :y
(http://dl.dropbox.com/u/803897/Omega/OilPressureTester/Gauge.jpg)
Its a "(BNIB) 0-100 PSI gauge, 100mm diameter with a parallel 3/8" pipe-thread on the inlet"
This will be for forum use, but I'm a bit stumped as to where to go to make up connection cable to the V6, few people mentioned a industrial hydraulic hose type place, but other than local DIY shop I've no idea where to even start :-[
Any suggestions for London (W3 area) or Brackley? :-\

Think Automotive are right round the corner (more or less) in TW7 - not cheap, but they can probably mate anything to anything.
Pirtek are walking distance but hideously expensive.

Give Think Automotive a call.

I will almost certainly have a hydraulic hose, but would need an adaptor to go from imperial to metric to fit the oil pump thread.
-
Another vote for Think Automotive. Very helpful guys IME.
You might well get it done cheaper at a pneumatic / hydraulic place, though. All you need is someone who has a drawer full of fittings and who can make up a hose.
-
Thanks Chaps :y :y
Perfect choice, its only a mile and half away from my office :)
To confirm, I need a M14x1.5?
-
;) I sent a 1 metre hydraulic hose too (IIRC: with tapered 1/8" npt swaged-ends)......`so it should be just fittings/reducers that will be required for the engine and gauge-thread differences. :y
...take the oil pressure sender (along with the hose and gauge I sent) when you go to any hydraulics, fluid-systems or industrial plumbing supplier. ;)

Perfect, thanks Debs :) :y
I'll get this made up very shortly...
-
There are plenty of M14 to 1/8 NPT adaptors on Ebay, as that's a popular conversion to fit oil pressure gauges.
-
.. and yes, I believe M14x1.5 is the size you need but haven't verified it. Maybe someone with a breaking Omega could whip the sensor off and measure the thread?
-
Well done to D&T. 8) :y
I'm glad that Tunnie was the other part of this equation and not Chris. :-X

17,000 miles of ignoring the problem, and now there is no problem ;D
But for the sake of seeing what it's like.... :P

After extensive testing the verdict is... Not terminal. :y

Oil pressure never was checked. Still a bit rattly when cold. Suspect more lazy lifters.
Not had a repeat of the "WTF" we had when calibrating it around Ipswich that time...

Thankfully... That was rather worrying for a moment :o
Until I remembered something important... It's not my car :D :D :D

Yeah, I must admit the first thing that went though my mind was that we'd burnt out a valve. ;D

Popping back on Monday to pickup the gauge, then got to get it setup with right adaptors.
Could be mid december before its ready :(
