Hi, I wonder if you can help me out ???
Basically, I posted a while ago about an Omega Elite and am now looking at selling or breaking the car :'(. Unfortunately, as it has been stood for so long, the battery is dead (if connected) and the door will not open on the key. The boot lock failed a while ago and was never replaced as it wasnt used.
I have tried the key several times whilst pulling the handle but no luck, the key turns to the left as far as it is meant to but I darent force as its only 1 key. I have also just seen a post advising to place jump leads to the starter motor to provide power to open the doors? If the battery is connected then hopefully this will work but can somebody advise on where the find the starter motor from underneath and where should the positive be connected?
I also know that it can be done through the grille. Now this is obviously a way that probably should not be on public forums. Ive got so far with his but cannot get to or find the cable. If somebody could maybe point me in the right direction via quick reply to be removed or by PM it would be much appreciated.
We are hoping the battery is still connected but due to it being off road, I have a feeling we disconnected it after locking the car up without thinking it would be left so long.
Any help or info appreciated!!

Keep going - will be stiff but will open with key - note inside door button may still be down but it will be unlocked :y

Ok cheers, I tried doing this a few times but expected the lock to pop up. I'll give it another go tomorrow.

Large terminal on the starter is the positve (there are two but the one with the large cable is the one you need), the negative can be attached anywhere on the engine block or chassis. :y
If all you are doing is trying to open the car and not start it then you only need a relatively small cable too and not jump leads......

Yeah did this, plenty of WD on it, just seems to turn fine as it should, hope the key is strong though! Going to try in a bit.

Thanks!! I'll get on this way if opening the door fails. We do only need to get inside the car for parts, very much doubt it will start anyway.

Apologies if I've got this round the wrong way, but if your trying to unlock the car with the key...shouldn't it be turned to the RIGHT not the left as you posted? :-\

Apologies if I've got this round the wrong way, but if your trying to unlock the car with the key...shouldn't it be turned to the RIGHT not the left as you posted
quite correct key should be turned clockwise (right) :y

Had a feeling it would be....other car was left so figured this was correct. The right was stiff, will get at it shortly.

If i get you into the car without damaging anything, will you do me a cracking price on the wheels and tyres? ;)

The key still would not turn in the lock at all to the point where I thought I would break the key so I abandoned that method.
I then attached a power pack to the starter motor as above and earthed it. Still nothing but heard a little single high pitches tone. Figuring there wasnt enough power, I then attached jump leads to the starter, earthed and used the other cars battery and the car unlocked on the fob!! :)
Now time to start clearing parts out where possible after its had a good polish inside.
If i get you into the car without damaging anything, will you do me a cracking price on the wheels and tyres? ;)
Done the first part, as for the 2nd, we had an offer of £325 for the wheels and tyres but he wants a little more for them. I havent been able to see any for sale as with any other Steinmetz Omega part so difficult to price them up. If you'd like to make an offer, feel free ;)
Unfortunately I obviously cant post the parts on here but it is on an auction site for breaking :'(

I believe it was deadlocked? Press the fob twice when locking...now its open, it does turn without a problem so there are no issues with the lock itself. Everything opened up as normal so could this maybe not work if deadlocked?
Didnt fancy breaking the key as we only have 1 for the car :) I broke a BMW key when my mate couldnt get in his so wasnt keen.....

it does require a lot of force , but will open it deadlocked or not :y
