Title: omega 3.2 MV6 auto grief!!

hi all, ianelect here just have a 3.2 auto that when your driving seems go slip into neutral engine revs then it finds gear then lurches forward, engine light is on and code reads P1700,what could it be?? seller had transmission fluid changed as he thought would solve it     (i don`t think so )

Repost this in the general help section for a better reply....but sounds like the gearbox needs opening up to me, sorry.

May be thrust washer, may be something else.

First thing to do is to check the fluid level PROPERLY .. symptoms you give are very much like low fluid. You say the seller had the fluid changed .. by a proper garage or a mate ?? .. many people don't check the fluid WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING which is how it MUST be done .. if done with the engine stationary the level will be low when running.
