Hi was wondering if Omega's suffer from Auto gearbox problems ? Car is a 1996 Elite Petrol with 100k miles on it.
Thanks

Generally no. ATF should be changed every 60k miles..
Thrust washers are the weakest point usually...

Better change the fluid then to be safe :-)

There is a plastic thrust washer that tends to break up and cause gearbox failure. If you find any evidence of it in the sumps when you change the fluid then it needs to be replaced. Other than that, keep the fluid fresh and they are reliable.

Unless...
you drive through deep water and get the selector switch wet
Or
you are unlucky and one of the change solenoids fails
(both of these can be fixed without taking the box out of the car though)
