Title: 1.6 Astra on a Y Plate (2001) info

Evening,

Have just been helping out a friend in purchasing one of these and need to know what the service schedule is, particularly cam belt. Any bright spark know before I trawl google please? ::)

AFAIK ALL Vauxhall cam belts have a 4 yr 40000 mile life.  :y :y

That was my thinking too ;) ;) This car sounds like it's on borrowed time then, although it's been parked up for the best part of a year :o

Fortunately he gave quite a bit less than the asking price on my advice, although I still wonder if he could have shaved a bit more off the price as his offer (higher than I had suggested starting at ::)) was accepted without thought ::)

6 years and 60K miles on the smaller units

and change the water pump as these fail and take out the cambelt.
