Title: Faulty Electric Window
Post by: Figureman52 on 29 November 2011, 13:49:24
My LH rear passenger electric window does not work. I swapped the switches from RH rear and still not working, neither does it work from the driver’s controls.

Initially the window did work but would not retain its one touch function, it then stopped working altogether.

The door switch has five numbered wires, I checked the voltages initially with the ignition off and then after I had turned the ignition on and off to “arm” the system.

My results are below.
                   1                 2                 3               4                 5
   Wire Colour   Blue/Red       Grey/Green          White        Grey/Yellow           Brown
LH Off               10               10             1.5              1.5               10
LH On               11.5             11.5           11.5              1.5               11.5
RH Off               0                0              1.5              1.5                 0
RH On                0                0              11.5             1.5                 0

There is clearly something wrong but is it a wiring problem or could it be more complicated than that?

Any help would be most welcome.

My first thought would be a wiring issue..

Firstly, check for a blown fuse.

Next, check the door wiring loom where it passes from the cill, through the bottom of the B-pillar, and into the door.  It has been known for the wiring to get damaged here by the opening and closing of the door.

Finally, it's doorcard off and test the window regular itself.
