Title: Interior trim - replace or cover?
Post by: GastronomicKleptomaniac on 29 November 2011, 14:48:59
Right, I've tried, but I really don't like the wooden effect interior trim in my F/L - should I be tracking down some black GLS trim, or has anyone had any success using a film to wrap around them?

Like this, for example - but I think carbon is a tad chavvy for a man of my impeccable good taste... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3D-Carbon-Fibre-Vinyl-Sheet-Wrap-Sticker-Film-/320713729466?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&var=&hash=item76c0585f29

My brother in Law decided to Carbon Fibre Sticker his Subaru. At a distance it looked ok if thats the sort of thing you like, up close however it looked a right balls up.
Radius' seem to be an art.

Have you thought about just buying the surround from an MV6? the mini facelift is a Carbon Look anyway, the facelift is silver.

I was thinking if I remove the panels (including, eek, the door trims) then apply the carbon fibre, I'd be able to wrap it* and it'd look OK. But I am a perfectionist...

I like the silver, but prefer black. I think when I've stopped spending money on frivolous things like tyres and tax, I might have to stick the feelers out for some black GLS trim.
